Liquid Personnel is recruiting for its client, an experienced Advanced Practitioner, to join the Emergency Duty Team (EDT) in Walsall. This is a fast-paced, out-of-hours role where you will respond to urgent referrals and support vulnerable individuals across both Children’s and Adult Social Care services. You will play a key role in safeguarding, crisis intervention, and risk management, making critical decisions in complex situations to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as an EDT duty worker, responding to referrals outside of normal working hours
  • Working with vulnerable individuals across all age ranges within both Children’s and Adult Services
  • Responding to crisis situations and delivering timely and effective interventions
  • Undertaking risk assessments to safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults
  • Completing accurate, timely and high-quality case recordings
  • Making sound professional judgements in complex and high-pressure situations
  • Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to reduce risk and ensure safeguarding
  • Applying relevant legislation and policy frameworks in all areas of practice
  • Maintaining high standards of documentation and case management
  • Supporting service improvement and contributing to best practice within the team

Qualifications & Experience:

  • MA, BA or BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW
  • Must be registered with Social Work England
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ post-qualified experience (ASYE completed)
  • Strong experience within Child Protection and/or Adult Safeguarding
  • Experience of working within crisis or emergency social work settings is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to manage complex cases and make informed decisions under pressure
  • Experience in risk assessment, safeguarding and multi-agency working
  • Ability to work across both Children’s and Adult Services (training can be provided if required)
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development

Legislation Knowledge:

  • Strong working knowledge of: Children Act 1989, Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA), Safeguarding Children and Adults frameworks and procedures
