We are currently recruiting for our client for an experienced Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team in West Essex on a locum basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and supportive service dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young people with disabilities and their families.

You'll work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, undertaking statutory social work responsibilities and delivering high-quality interventions that promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with disabilities, completing assessments, reviews and care planning.
  • Undertake Child in Need, Child Protection and Looked After Children work where required.
  • Build effective relationships with children, young people, families and partner agencies.
  • Complete robust assessments and produce high-quality reports and case recordings.
  • Develop and implement outcome-focused care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, reviews and strategy discussions.
  • Work in partnership with education, health and other professionals to provide coordinated support.
  • Ensure all practice is in line with current legislation, statutory guidance and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • To be successful in this role you must have;
  • Social Work qualification (Degree, CQSW, Dip SW or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualified social work experience.
  • Previous experience working within a Children with Disabilities or Children's Services team.
  • Strong assessment, safeguarding and care planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using electronic case management systems.
  • Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment.
