Role Overview: This is an entry level role on the Liquified Natural Gas Desk in London. We will provide the successful applicant with on-the-job training and vast exposure to the fast-paced financial markets. We are ideally looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual that can work autonomously and collaboratively in a small team and can think on their feet. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly experienced team and would be perfect for somebody looking to start their career in Financial Services. You do not require a degree for this opportunity but proven academia in mathematics is a pre-requisite either at GCSE’s and/or A-Level’s or equivalent qualification(s) are required. Applicable work experience can be considered for those who do not hold a university/college degree.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide complete support to the brokers for the smooth running of the desk.
- Ensure timely input of trades into trading systems.
- Ad hoc administrative responsibilities.
- Resolve any trade queries received internally and externally, and ensure any trade discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
- Keep trade records up to date.
- Update real-time manual/electronic whiteboards with market data.
- Provide input on various projects for brokers and traders.
- Provide trade details to brokers and traders on a daily basis.
- Monitor markets and follow financial news and developments.
- Understand the underlying products being traded and keep up to date with knowledge of new products/procedures.
- Liaise with clients (via telephone, messaging and face to face) to answer any administrative queries.
Experience / Competences
Essential:
- Proficient mathematics qualifications, either at GCSE and/or A-Levels level is required as a minimum.
- Experience using Trayport and ICE systems for deal entry.
- Demonstrated interest in the financial markets and the economy.
- High level of computer competence.
- Hard working and willingness to learn.
