Role OverviewThis role sits within the Anti‐Financial Crime (AFC) function and acts as a subject matter expert across financial crime disciplines, including CDD, Sanctions, ABC, CTF and Proliferation Financing. It provides technical expertise, interprets regulatory requirements, and translates them into practical, actionable guidance to support effective implementation across the business. It also supports the ongoing enhancement of AFC frameworks and controls, contributes to risk identification and mitigation, and provides clear, well-reasoned advice on complex or non‐standard matters. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role collaborates closely with Compliance, the business, and support functions to ensure the effective management of financial crime riskRole ResponsibilitiesAct as an AFC subject matter expert across CDD, sanctions, ABC, CTF and proliferation financing, supporting both business and compliance activitiesInterpret global policies and regulatory requirements, translating these into clear, practical guidance for implementationIdentify emerging financial crime risks, control gaps and thematic issues, supporting prioritisation of mitigation activitiesProvide clear, well‐reasoned recommendations on complex, non‐standard or ambiguous AFC mattersSupport the implementation and ongoing enhancement of AFC frameworks, policies and standards, ensuring alignment with global requirementsApply and adapt financial crime controls to ensure they are effective, proportionate and fit for purpose within the business contextAnalyse management information, trends and thematic outputs to identify insights and drive control improvementsEscalate material risks, systemic issues and emerging themes where broader or cross‐functional impact is identifiedContribute to change initiatives, including process enhancements, tooling improvements and data‐driven solutionsSupport capability development through knowledge sharing, guidance and training inputsCollaborate with business, compliance and support functions to ensure coordinated delivery of AFC objectivesDeliver assigned AFC activities to a high standard, ensuring outputs are accurate, consistent and aligned with policy and regulationExperience / CompetencesEssentialProven technical expertise across core AFC disciplines: CDD/KYC, sanctions, anti‐bribery & corruption, counter‐terrorist financing and proliferation financingDeep understanding of key regulatory frameworks and expectations (e.g. FCA, FATF, OFAC, EU sanctions regimes)Proven ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical, business‐applicable guidanceEvidenced ability to assess financial crime risk and apply sound judgement in complex or ambiguous situationsDemonstrated analytical capability, including use of MI and data to identify trends, risks and control gapsRecognised stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructivelyOutstanding written and verbal communication skills, producing clear, concise and defensible outputsDesiredExperience within an Anti‐Financial Crime or Compliance function in financial services (preferably IDB, markets or commodities environment)Experience supporting or implementing AFC frameworks, policies or control enhancementsExposure to regulatory engagement, audit or remediation programmesExperience contributing to change initiatives, including process optimisation or technology/tooling enhancementsExperience working across global or multi‐jurisdictional environmentsJob Band & LevelManager / 6#LI-MID #LI-HybridNot The Perfect Fit?
