As a Purchasing Assistant you will bring reliability, organisation, and attention to detail to the Procurement Team. You will enjoy working in a structured environment, managing routine tasks accurately, and supporting others by keeping information up to date and visible. You will be comfortable handling a high volume of administrative activity and responding to queries, helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of purchasing operations across the business.
The Role – Purchasing Assistant
- Raising purchase orders accurately and in line with instructions provided by Buyers.
- Managing shared procurement inboxes and responding to routine internal and supplier queries.
- Chasing order acknowledgements, delivery dates and confirmations.
- Updating ERP data, including prices, lead times, pack sizes and supplier records.
- Supporting supplier set‑ups and maintaining basic supplier information.
- Completing housekeeping activities to keep data and records clean and current.
- Assisting with progress chasing and flagging delays or discrepancies.
- Support on NPD activity on administrative tasks, including taking meeting minutes, tracking actions and chasing follow‑ups to support delivery against agreed timelines.
- Supporting documentation filing and record management.
- Providing administrative support across the procurement team as required.
- Escalating issues where appropriate.
