This role of Business Development Manager supports the company's ongoing growth by developing significant new business within a dedicated geographical area through approved sales initiatives. It involves proactive lead generation, fostering long-term strategic alliances, maintaining and growing a robust sales pipeline, and managing large-scale contract negotiations. The focus is on closing new business with integrity and a service-driven approach.
The Role – Business Development Manager
- Proactive development of new business opportunities and management of the company generated opportunities.
- Management and development of existing customers through their lifecycle.
- Develop long-term strategic alliances that deliver bottom line profit for the business.
- Self-generated leads every week through cold calling, networking and other appropriate means.
- Effectively manage all prospects and existing customers through contract negotiations to deliver targets and maintain margins.
- Develop and execute a sales plan that meets or exceeds established sales goals and supports company targets.
- Keep contractual paperwork, systems and reporting data up-to-date and accurate.
- Liaise and collaborate with Marketing to ensure sufficient leads are being generated to deliver your targets and plan campaigns in advance.
What You Will Need in the Role of Business Development Manager
- Proven experience in a B2B Business Development position, industry experience is desirable.
- Ability to understand and interpret KPI's.
- Understanding and training in sales and business development functions.
- Experience in writing up proposals and implementing strategies from concept to completion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to partner effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage and prioritise a heavy workload with strong organisational ability.
- Able to find new creative solutions while recognising the impact of decisions and actions on the entire organisation.
