Liquid Personnel is recruiting an experienced Locum Adult Qualified Social Worker for its client’s Older Persons Team based in Wrexham. This is a full-time agency role offering £33.42 per hour, supporting older adults to maintain independence and achieve positive outcomes through strengths-based social work practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of older adults, completing strengths-based assessments, care planning, reviews, and interventions to promote independence and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments, Best Interest decisions, safeguarding enquiries, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and professional standards.
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, health professionals, and partner agencies, while participating in the duty rota to respond to referrals, urgent enquiries, and priority cases across community and hospital settings.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Social Work degree or equivalent qualification (BA Social Work, MA Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
  • Registered with Social Care Wales.
  • Experience working within Adult Social Care, ideally with older adults.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding procedures, and adult social care legislation.
  • Ability to complete assessments, care planning, reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Strong communication and partnership-working skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
