Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Children’s Social Worker to join its client’s Looked After Children team, based in Manchester.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Manage a caseload of children who are in the care of the local authority.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review care plans tailored to each child’s needs.
- Ensure children’s placements (foster care, residential care, kinship care) are safe, stable, and supportive.
- Promote the child’s health, education, and emotional wellbeing, ensuring access to appropriate services.
- Maintain regular contact with children through statutory visits and direct work.
- Prepare and present reports for Looked After Child Reviews.
- Work closely with birth families, carers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies.
- Support children through transitions, including reunification with family, adoption, or leaving care.
- Advocate for the child’s voice to be heard in all aspects of planning and decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Social Work England registration
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Post-qualified experience
- Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
