Our client is seeking highly experienced Social Workers to join its Family Safeguarding Service in Swindon. The service operates a “Pod” model, with five Social Workers and one Manager per pod, designed to enhance management oversight, peer support, and high-quality practice.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Comprehensive Assessment: Undertake timely parenting and holistic assessments to inform the development of outcome-focused care plans.
  • Court Work: Manage both private and public law court proceedings, including the initiation and completion of cases within strict court timescales.
  • Permanency Planning: Achieve permanency for children, including drafting and executing plans for adoption where necessary.
  • Risk Analysis: Identify and respond to complex risks, providing clear, analytical evidence of interventions within children’s records.
  • Pod Collaboration: Work closely within a small team unit (Pod) to ensure consistent oversight and shared learning.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Social Work England registration and a recognized Social Work qualification.
  • Experience Requirement: Minimum of 3 years Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) in a permanent statutory setting.
  • Court Expertise: Proven track record of managing care proceedings and achieving permanency.
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced ability to analyze risk and intervention impact.
  • Driving: Must be a car driver with access to a vehicle for business use.

Working Hours and Flexibility:

  • Office Presence: 3 days per week in the Swindon office is required.
  • Schedule: Full-time hours. Please note that condensed working patterns cannot be accommodated for this role.
  • Duration: Ongoing agency cover.

Financial Support for Commuters:

  • Travel/Accommodation Allowance: Candidates living 50+ miles from Swindon are entitled to claim a flat rate of £100 per week to assist with mileage or accommodation costs.
  • Eligibility: This allowance is currently confirmed for all placements until 10 May 2026.
