What will your responsibilities be? Strategic lead for mental health. Provides expertise, professional social care leadership, and management. Drives performance of the mental health and Learning Disabilities workforce. Delivers the Council\'s priorities. Meets service targets in relation to mental health and Learning Disabilities.Mental Health & Learning Disabilities: The Strategic Lead for Mental Health in Adult Social Care will drive transformation of mental health services, develop strategic policies, and ensure community service delivery in Somerset. The Learning Disabilities Lead will reshape services using a Neighbourhood model, support smooth transitions for young people, and lead Transforming Care initiatives. Both roles involve collaboration with public bodies and system partners to align with local and national priorities in adult social care. Key Results Areas: Operational Delivery: Review performance outcomes, resolve complex issues, and provide expertise to Members and Directors. Service Planning and Delivery: Develop and deliver service plans, manage change, and lead cultural change to promote well-being. Strategic Development: Collaborate with key agencies to monitor practice quality, drive service improvement, and ensure high standards. Financial/Budget Management: Manage budgets and contribute to financial strategy. Performance Frameworks: Implement performance management systems and ensure accountability. Skills: Strong assessment and analysis skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
