Liquid Personnel is recruiting an Adult Social Worker to join its client’s Locality team, based in Somerset. Our client is currently recruiting for 3 experienced locum Social Workers to join a North East Somerset Locality Team based in Midsomer Norton. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality, strengths-based practice within a supportive community setting.
Job Purpose: To deliver high-quality, strengths-based social work with adults and carers within a locality community team. You will undertake proportionate assessments, support planning and reviews, safeguard adults in line with B&NES procedures, and promote wellbeing, independence, and inclusion. This role supports the council’s vision for personalised, preventative, community-focused care, working in partnership with individuals, families, and multi-agency colleagues.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Undertake strengths-based Care Act assessments with adults and carers, identifying needs, risks, outcomes, and community assets
- Lead or contribute to section 42 safeguarding enquiries, applying Making Safeguarding Personal and multi-agency partnership working
- Develop, implement, and review person-centred support plans that promote wellbeing and independence
- Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and Best Interest decisions, supporting DoLS processes in line with legislation
- Hold and manage a caseload, prioritising effectively and ensuring timely progression of work
- Complete high-quality case recording, risk assessments, and professional reports in line with B&NES standards
- Work collaboratively with carers, families, health, housing, and voluntary sector partners
- Provide early intervention, prevention, and advocacy, enabling access to community resources
Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have;
- Proven experience within an adult social work or locality team
- Strong working knowledge of the Care Act, MCA, DoLS, and safeguarding frameworks
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and make sound professional decisions
- Excellent assessment, communication, and writing skills
- Available to start immediately
