Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Children’s Social Worker to join its client’s Family Help & Front Door team, based in Manchester. This is a unique, non-case holding social work opportunity designed to bridge the gap between Family Help Services and the Front Door of Social Care. Rather than managing a traditional caseload, you will act as a community-facing consultant and facilitator, ensuring families receive early, effective intervention and that risk is identified accurately at the point of referral.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Community Outreach: Reach out into the community to support families by building on their existing strengths and facilitating access to necessary support services.
- Front Door Support: Work alongside First Response Advisors and multi-agency partners to process referrals, share information, and identify both risks and strengths.
- Partnership Coordination: Use high-level partnership skills to draw agencies together, showing partners how to build effective plans and enable successful interventions.
- Service Navigation: Ensure the 'right work reaches the right place at the right time' by facilitating smooth work transfers from the Front Door to the appropriate long-term services.
- Risk Consultation: Provide expert advice and guidance on levels of need and risk thresholds to community partners and families.
Working Hours and Flexibility:
- Non-Case Holding: This is a purely consultative and facilitative role, focusing on throughput and community engagement rather than long-term case management.
- Service Needs: You may be required to work outside of core business hours to meet the needs of the service and the families within the community.
Contract: Full-time agency cover within an 'Outstanding' rated local authority.
Our Commitment:
- Strengths-Based Practice: We believe in empowering families through relationship-based social work and early intervention.
- Integrated Care: We are aligning our services to ensure there is no 'wrong door' for families seeking help in Manchester.
Qualifications and Experience:
- To be successful in this role you must have; Social Work England registration and a recognized Social Work qualification.
- Risk Expertise: Deep knowledge of safeguarding thresholds and the ability to assess risk confidently in a non-statutory setting.
- Relationship Building: Exceptional engagement skills with the ability to build kind, professional relationships with families and community stakeholders.
- Compliance: Candidates must provide a 5-year reference history (with all gaps checked) and must pass the DfE Recommendation Compliance Questions to be considered.
