As the AMHP Team Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage the daytime AMHP Service
- Provide professional leadership, supervision, and support to AMHPs
- Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities under the Mental Health Act
- Oversee social supervision for conditionally discharged patients under Section 42
- Carry out Mental Health Act assessments
- Collaborate with partner agencies including the Mental Health Trust, Police, and Ambulance Services
- Maintain performance against national and local targets
- Support AMHPs with supervision, training, and access to legal advice
Essential requirements of this Social Work Team Manager role:
- Registration as a Social Worker and current AMHP qualification
- Approved as an AMHP by a local authority within the last 5 years
- Compliance with annual AMHP training requirements
- Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act, case law, and MOJ requirements
- Understanding of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks
