Liquid Personnel are partnering exclusively with a fostering agency in Greater Manchester which is seeking individuals with the right experience to support children transitioning from residential care. These children need what matters most: a safe, nurturing, and stable home. For experienced social workers, fostering also offers a rewarding alternative career path.

This is a unique self-employed opportunity, allowing you to step away from heavy caseloads and administrative demands, and instead focus your expertise on making a real difference one child at a time. You’ll receive full training and ongoing support to help you see the impact of your work every day.

We are looking for:

  • Professionals with a strong background in caring roles, ideally supporting young people with complex needs
  • A full-time commitment from at least one carer in the home
  • The ability to provide solo care to one foster child (or sibling group) at a time
  • A dedicated bedroom in your home for a child or young person
  • Willingness to undertake therapeutic and trauma-informed training
  • A calm, reflective, and team-focused approach

You must live within or near the Bury area and be able to travel locally for meetings, training, and to meet the needs of the young person.

What’s on offer:

  • Weekly fostering fee of £1,052 when caring for a child (Annual equivalent: £54,704)
  • 28 days of short breaks per year, provided by a dedicated Support Carer, and you continue to receive your full fee during this time
  • Retainer of £408 per week during matching or between placements
  • Wraparound support including:
  • A dedicated Senior Practitioner and Family Wellbeing Worker
  • Access to a local hub of other foster carers for peer support
  • 24/7 out-of-hours support
  • Tailored therapeutic training and consultation with psychological services

If you consider yourself to have a disability or require any reasonable adjustment during the recruitment process or within the workplace, please highlight this at the earliest opportunity by contacting our team. With this information, we will provide appropriate support to you throughout the process and into your work placement.

We are unable to support or accept applications from candidates who are residents within the Red or Amber list of the Code of practice for the international recruitment of health and social care personnel in England, based on the World Health Organisation (WHO) Workforce Support and Safeguard List.
