Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced Team Manager to join Bolton Council's Referral and Assessment Team based at Castle Hill, working across the borough.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead an efficient and effective Referral and Assessment Team, ensuring timely and high-quality responses to referrals concerning children and families.
  • Provide management oversight of assessments, safeguarding interventions, and decision-making processes, ensuring statutory duties and performance targets are met.
  • Supervise, support, and develop social work staff through regular supervision, performance management, and workforce development activities.
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, induction, and retention of staff to maintain a skilled and effective team.
  • Ensure effective workload management, resource allocation, and service delivery across the team.
  • Chair and facilitate professional meetings, strategy discussions, multi-agency meetings, and decision-making forums.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to promote positive outcomes for children and families and ensure effective safeguarding practice.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes and monitor compliance with legislation, policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Review and quality assure assessments, reports, and case recording to ensure high standards of practice.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives, audits, inspections, and project work across Children's Services.
  • Manage financial resources and support budget monitoring and resource management.
  • Ensure accurate recording, reporting, and use of management information systems to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Lead on disciplinary, grievance, capability, and attendance management processes where required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Degree level qualification in Social Work (DipSW/CQSW or equivalent).
  • Extensive post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
