Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join its client in Bolton, working across the borough.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly, effectively and confidentially to allegations and concerns regarding professionals, volunteers and those in positions of trust who work with children.
  • Work collaboratively with Police, Children's Social Care, employers and partner agencies to ensure allegations are managed appropriately and safeguarding concerns are addressed.
  • Provide advice, guidance and oversight to organisations dealing with allegations against adults working with children.
  • Monitor and oversee investigations to ensure they are conducted thoroughly, fairly and within agreed timescales.
  • Chair and facilitate allegations management meetings and provide professional challenge where necessary.
  • Ensure high standards of professional practice are maintained in line with legislation, statutory guidance and local safeguarding procedures.
  • Support and challenge agencies to take appropriate and timely action to safeguard children from neglect, abuse and harm.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports, audits and safeguarding reviews where required.
  • Promote effective multi-agency working to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Act as a key safeguarding professional, ensuring concerns are managed consistently and proportionately across the partnership.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Degree level qualification in Social Work (Dip SW/CQSW or equivalent).
  • Extensive post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
  • Strong knowledge of childcare legislation, safeguarding procedures, and evidence-based practice.
