Liquid Personnel is recruiting an Occupational Therapist for its clientâs Moving & Handling Services Team in Blackburn with Darwen. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Moving & Handling Services Team at Blackburn with Darwen Council on a locum basis. This is a vital role, delivering community-based assessments and interventions to support individuals requiring moving and handling assistance, while promoting independence, safety, and well-being.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Conduct community assessments within a local authority setting, identifying needs and recommending equipment solutions
- Perform comprehensive moving and handling assessments, ensuring safe practices and compliance with guidelines
- Collaborate with residents, families, and professionals to create tailored support plans for safe mobility
- Assess and demonstrate single-handed solutions to meet handling needs in community settings
- Maintain accurate records in line with professional and legal standards
- Provide demonstrations and training to care providers on safe moving and handling practices and equipment use
