JOB PURPOSE
The Planned Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the execution, coordination, and improvement of the site’s preventative maintenance schedule. You will play a vital role in minimising downtime, improving machine reliability, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on a range of manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Support the implementation and optimisation of the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
- Analyse equipment performance to identify trends, root causes of failures, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Assist in spare parts management and stock level reviews.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Time-served engineer with a recognised apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (e.g., ONC/HNC, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds).
- Proven experience in a planned/preventative maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills (ideally multi-skilled).
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices.
