About the role:
We are looking for someone to drive the continuous development of the fabric and sustainability strategy across Lipsy’s own-buy brands, including; Lipsy, Love & Roses and Friends like These.
This role is essential to achieving best quality and consistency across the business whilst meeting our goals.
You will be…
- Managing suppliers to deliver best quality fabrics, providing feedback to ensure the supply base is set up for successful bulk production and on-time delivery
- Taking ownership of fabric quality and delivery. Managing and rectifying failures, ensuring high quality standards are met and maintained
- Working with suppliers on fabric development and product innovation to deliver newness
- Encouraging a right-first-time approach, challenging suppliers to improve performance to deliver quality and consistency
- Engaging in product risk assessment, highlighting areas of concern and offering advice on fabric technical solutions and product improvements
- Working with the Sustainability & Compliance Team to drive business sustainability targets and eliminate the risk of hazardous substances in the manufacturing process
- Implementing policies within business and facilitating training to relevant stakeholders
- The main point of contact for internal teams to implement the Sustainability Strategy across selected categories such as animal welfare, denim and footwear
- Developing detailed roadmaps and delivery plans across raw materials and process improvements (E.G. dye processes)
- Helping to support suppliers and buying teams with data integrity
- Providing data for relevant reporting and contributing to business updates
Your Talent..
- In depth technical knowledge of a broad range of fabric types. Including; warp/weft knits and wovens across a range of fibre types (including stretch fabrics)
- A technical understanding of different components used across a range of product categories
- Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of fabric manufacturing including dyeing/finishing, printing techniques and wash processes
- Technical knowledge gained within a supplier or fast paced retail environment
- Able to work at pace, whilst embracing change in a busy environment
- Able to collaborate well with the wider team, work across product categories, mentoring and coaching to deliver fabric knowledge
- Organised and flexible with a positive attitude and an agile approach within the technical team
- Confident and clear communication skills, both verbal and written, to build strong relationships with product teams and external suppliers
- Demonstrates passion for fabrics and sustainability with an appreciation for compliance processes and practices
- Able to travel throughout the UK with potential overseas travel when required
