About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Designer to join our passionate and creative Friends Like These Team. You will lead the process of design and development of the department, building a balanced, comprehensive offer with required pricing structure and margin. Offer newness combined with commerciality and a strong affinity for fast fashion influenced by the latest catwalk and trend predictions. You will
- Contribute to the design, development and delivery of feminine, trend led knitwear and jersey products
- Work closely with the Design and Buying teams to create best selling styles
- Present new product ranges to management and buying teams
- Create mood and trend boards seasonally, plus colour palettes and print research
- Liaise with factories and suppliers on a daily basis, ensuring smooth relationships and quality sampling
- Identify new opportunities for trends and sourcing, through strong relationships and collaboration with your Buying team, suppliers and factories
- Delegate work to shared Design Assistant
- Attend inspirational trips across Europe
- Travel overseas to develop product and range build
- Produce concepts, trends, and storyboards
- Understand pricing-margins- design to price point
- Liaise with production on all order approvals and costing issues
- Experienced in knitwear and jersey is essential
- Eye for colour, trends, and fashion
- Previous design experience from high street fashion retailer/supplier
- Able to drive and influence product vision and direction
- Excellent free-hand fashion illustration skills
- Excellent technical garment drawing skills
- Demonstrates an awareness of the retail industry
- Demonstrates accountability to deliver within role and drive the right results
- Helpful and approachable, always willing to extend help
- Demonstrates an awareness of trends and impact of potential threats and opportunities
