A well-regarded London law firm is seeking a Knowledge Lawyer with 10+ PQE to join the Private Wealth & Tax Team. The group works with a diverse range of institutions, companies, and high net-worth individuals managing and protecting their assets in the most tax-efficient manner. They regularly work with clients who are international, with personal wealth and business interests in numerous jurisdictions and sectors, including professional fiduciaries and private trustees, both in the UK and all major international financial centres.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the well-established and innovative team of Knowledge Lawyers in a firm where knowledge lawyers are placed at the heart of the teams delivering client service. The KLs are a strong team of dedicated 'lawyer to the lawyer' experts and benefit from the same career structure (including partnership) as fee-earners.
In this role, which is central to driving success for the PWT practice group, the Private Department, and the Firm in its offering to individuals, family offices, and trustees, in the UK and internationally, you will:
- Shape and deliver the practice group knowledge strategy, collaborating with KLs both in the Private Department and the wider Firm to implement their strategic knowledge visions.
- Co-ordinate, design, prepare, and capture internal and client legal training.
- Collect, draft, maintain, and update key precedents, know-how, and client guides including with automated document assembly, following the Firm's house style.
- Monitor law and practice developments and provide horizon scanning updates to both lawyers and clients.
- Leverage knowledge and technology to develop business opportunities, add value to key client relationships, and bring efficiencies to client service delivery.
- Deliver content for the Department's communication strategy including client alerts and articles in internal and external publications, including the legal, trade, and general press.
- Provide targeted, strategic support to identify, leverage, and - with the support of the BD team and fee-earners - implement new and emerging Business Development initiatives.
- Manage the Department's knowledge pages on the Firm's intranet and other know-how repositories.
- Work with Risk & Compliance and the Partners to implement and embed best practice and risk management practices across the Department and support in any statutory, regulatory, and other risk management changes.
- Respond to technical law and practice queries from fee-earners.
THE CANDIDATE
Ideally 10+ years PQE and either: a KL (PSL) already or switching from fee-earning but able to demonstrate KL skills and a track record of knowledge contribution. Deep tax law and practice and private client expertise. Real enthusiasm for, and proven record of, business development and knowledge commercialisation. Excellent writing and drafting skills.
