THE FIRM
A global law firm

THE ROLE
Lawyer with a derivatives/general finance/structured finance background to join a growing Financial Services Transactions practice in the London office. Collateral experience is preferred but not essential. The role may suit someone interested in a new challenge, open to working with a new client base and transaction types.

The team primarily works with insurers/reinsurers and defined benefit pension schemes on structured insurance transactions and related financial products. No pensions or life insurance knowledge is required. A large portion of the work involves structured reinsurance transactions between UK life companies and global reinsurers. A smaller part involves bank and pension trustee-facing work. Most transactions involve working with different asset classes, including illiquid, debt-based assets, which form the premium or security in these structures.

THE CANDIDATE

Successful candidates will be well supported and will have the opportunity to work on large, complex transactions in a growing area. The team is ideally looking for candidates with 3-6 PQE, but this is not conclusive and each candidate will be considered on merit. No specific sector experience is required; the team seeks solid legal skills and an enquiring mind eager to learn and develop a sector-specific focus in transactional work within the FS team. Experience in derivatives, structured finance, or collateral is preferred but not essential. The team is particularly interested in candidates with experience taking security over financial collateral, such as charged account arrangements or title transfer arrangements under ISDA Credit Support Annex, ICMA GMRA, or ISLA GMSLA.
