THE ROLE
We have a vacancy for an Associate General Counsel to join the in-house legal team of this well-established international law firm.
As a member of the in-house legal function, you will be handling a diverse workload as follows:
- Legal advice to the firm’s senior management on legal issues affecting the business, including new business acquisitions and structural change.
- Regulatory matters: Together with the Risk & Compliance team, ensuring that the firm complies with relevant regulations in its operations and business activities. Issues may involve advising on the SRA Code, professional standards and best practice, ethics, conflicts, financial crime, supplier contracts, and firm and third-party terms and conditions.
- Risk management: Identifying and managing legal risks, implementing strategies to mitigate risk.
- Employee relations: Providing legal guidance on employment-related matters throughout the Firm’s network.
- Professional indemnity: Procuring relevant insurance protection, liaising with brokers and insurers.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be a qualified lawyer (England & Wales), 5+ PQE, with relevant Insurance/Risk experience as a fee earner working for a leading international law firm or similar. In addition, you will have a detailed knowledge of the SRA Handbook and the Code of Conduct.
Employment law experience would be helpful. Sound commercial acumen and outstanding communication skills are essential.
