Job Title: Pharmacy Dispenser
Working Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week – including alternate weekends (1 in 2). Shifts
Reports To: Pharmacy Director
To support the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services by preparing, dispensing, and managing prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, while providing excellent customer service and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations.
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescriptions, ensuring correct labelling, dosage, and packaging.
- Provide excellent customer service at the counter and over the phone.
- Offer basic advice on over the counter (OTC) medications within scope of training.
- Ensure that all medication storage, handling, and disposal is in line with safety and legal requirements.
- Receive, unpack, and store pharmaceutical stock safely and securely.
- Assist in stock control and inventory checks, including expiry date monitoring.
- Maintain accurate patient records and prescription logs using pharmacy systems.
- Support the pharmacist in day-to-day operations and regulatory compliance.
- Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.
- Completed NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling prescriptions.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Basic IT skills for operating pharmacy software and records.
- Experience working in a community or retail pharmacy.
- Knowledge of NHS prescription processing (if applicable).
