We are looking to recruit a Technician (Live Sound) for our Technical Services Team. You will support the Sound Technology and Theatre & Production Technology Departments, providing equipment and technical support for live sound lectures and seminars. As well as supporting our students’ learning you will work with the Productions Technical Department to assist and ensure the smooth running of LIPA productions and events. You will facilitate technical sound requirements for open days and other LIPA events such as masterclasses and Graduation. You will provide a customer facing role for bookings and events.
In addition, you will also be responsible for providing first-line technical support to ensure the smooth processing of equipment booking requests generated from Smarthub; ensure adequate arrangements exist for the storage, distribution, and maintenance of Live Sound equipment, and assist with budget preparations and the ordering of equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject with a good working knowledge of all associated technologies including a wide knowledge of presentation systems. You will have experience of working in a technical capacity for both teaching and live events and of operating digital video capture and editing systems. A working knowledge of Keynote is essential. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, a structured approach to problem solving and knowledge of working with and installing audio visual equipment.
