Position Description

To provide professional and proactive HR support across the business, ensuring the consistent application of company policies and procedures whilst supporting managers and employees on a range of people-related matters.

The HR Advisor will assist with recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, training administration, engagement initiatives and HR projects, supporting the HR Manager in delivering key departmental objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on company policies, procedures and terms and conditions of employment.
  • Support managers in the management of absence, disciplinary, grievance, probation and performance-related matters.
  • Attend meetings as required, providing advice, administrative support and note-taking.
  • Ensure employee relations matters are accurately documented and maintained in line with company procedures.
  • Escalate complex employee relations issues to the HR Manager as appropriate.
  • Support the maintenance and review of HR policies and procedures to ensure they remain up to date and compliant with employment legislation.
  • Promote compliance with company policies, procedures and standards across the business.
  • Support internal and external HR audit requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities including advertising vacancies, screening applications, arranging interviews and communicating with candidates.
  • Support managers throughout the recruitment and selection process.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local colleges, universities and training providers to support recruitment and apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Assist with onboarding activities, ensuring all pre-employment checks and documentation are completed.
  • Monitor and coordinate probation review processes.
  • Support the administration and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Maintain training records and training matrices.
  • Coordinate training activities and monitor completion of mandatory training.
  • Support apprenticeship programmes and employee development initiatives.
  • Assist with induction training and onboarding programmes for new employees.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and surveys.
  • Assist with the administration and monitoring of engagement action plans.
  • Coordinate exit interviews and provide feedback to the HR Manager on emerging themes and trends.
  • Support wellbeing, recognition and employee communication initiatives.
  • Maintain HR systems and employee data, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare employment-related documentation including contracts, offer letters and amendments.
  • Assist in producing HR reports and metrics as required.
  • Support general HR administration across the employee lifecycle.
  • Assist with succession planning and workforce development activities.
  • Support the administration of appraisal and performance review processes.
  • Maintain development records and support training and development plans.
  • Provide administrative support for talent and development initiatives.
  • Support the HR Manager with key HR projects and departmental objectives.
  • Develop positive working relationships with managers and employees across the business.
  • Ensure all information is handled confidentially and in accordance with company requirements.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the level of the role.
  • Position: Full Time with an immediate start
  • Hours of work: Mon- Thursday 9.00am -17.00pm, Friday 8.00am – 2.00pm

Holidays: Full time – 25 days per year (Holiday year Jan – Dec) + 8 Bank holidays, Pro rata for part time.

Life Insurance: 3 times basic salary whilst in employment

Pension Scheme: Automatic enrolment if meet criteria, 5% Employee, 3% Employer. After 1 year in April – Age related up to max 6.5%.
