Hockey Coach / Sports Coach (Schools) Part-Time | Weekday Afternoons | Term Time Only

Location: London & South East

Salary: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)

Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner)

Inspire the next generation through Hockey. Lions Sports Academy is one of the South East's leading providers of sports coaching in schools, working with over 50 partner schools and delivering thousands of coaching sessions every academic year. We're expanding our team and are looking for enthusiastic Hockey Coaches and Sports Coaches to join us for regular weekday afternoon coaching opportunities in schools across London and the South East. If you're passionate about Hockey, enjoy working with young people and want flexible, rewarding coaching work with genuine progression opportunities, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

You'll deliver high-quality hockey coaching within primary and secondary schools, helping pupils develop their technical ability, confidence, teamwork and enjoyment of sport. Sessions may include:

  • Curriculum PE
  • Games afternoons
  • Hockey training sessions
  • After-school clubs
  • School fixtures
  • Sports enrichment programmes
  • Holiday camps (optional)

Most roles take place between 1:00pm and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday during term time, with additional opportunities available for coaches seeking more hours.

  • Available to work weekday afternoons

Essential Requirements

  • Experience coaching Hockey or delivering sports sessions
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willingness to complete (or already hold) an Enhanced DBS check
  • Ability to travel to schools within your preferred area

Desirable

  • England Hockey Coaching Qualification
  • First Aid qualification
  • Safeguarding qualification
  • Experience working in schools or community sport
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
