About Us

We are a vibrant, inclusive school committed to providing exceptional education and care for all our pupils. Our provision supports children with a range of complex needs, including communication difficulties, sensory impairments, and medical conditions.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team. You will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support that enables pupils to access learning and thrive in a safe, nurturing environment. We are looking for someone to support children with a range of complex needs, including communication difficulties and sensory impairments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with complex needs.
  • Assist with personal care and medical needs where required.
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) or complex needs (desirable).
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children.
  • Ability to follow individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training (including safeguarding and medical procedures).

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and friendly team environment.

Expectations and Values

  • Act as an ambassador for the Trust by supporting our values and expectations of learning.
  • Follow and where appropriate enact all relevant Trust policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Be willing and able to travel within the Trust.

All staff are expected to be familiar with and adhere to all academy policies and, in particular, meet key requirements in relation to health and safety and safeguarding. This job description sets out the duties and responsibilities of the post at the time when it was drawn up. Such duties and responsibilities may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed. Such variations are a common occurrence and cannot of themselves justify a reconsideration of the grading of the post.

Lionheart Educational Trust seeks to promote the employment of disabled people and will make any adjustments considered reasonable to the above duties under the terms of the Equality Act 2010 to accommodate a suitable disabled candidate. The Trust strives to be a diverse and inclusive place where all staff have a seat at the table: a seat to be free, a seat to inspire, a seat to challenge and a seat to succeed. We currently have staff networks for staff who are Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer + (LGBTQ+), staff who would describe their background as working class and staff with a disability.

Lionheart Educational Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check (including a barred list check and online checks).
