Role Overview
As IT Technician you will be mobile working across all facets of the business, from our Head Office operations in Worcester to our construction sites and sales centres across the West Midlands and beyond, providing IT and technical support, including installing equipment on site. You will be customer-focused, inquisitive and keen to learn.
Lioncourt Homes provide internal IT support for all staff, including lone workers on site and hybrid roles. The role will be working closely with the IT Manager to deliver day-to-day support, hardware installations, and undertake essential maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Serving as the first point of contact for IT support within the business, providing support to our Head Office teams and travelling to site and sales centres as required.
- Managing the internal ticket system to ensure that issues are prioritised and where possible resolved with minimal disruption or downtime. Tickets may be raised via e-mail, telephone call or in person and should all be logged for service evaluation purposes.
- Out of hours and weekend working may be a necessity on occasion.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining software and hardware components of computer and network systems.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
- Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components.
- Supporting staff and clients whenever they encounter challenges with computers and network devices.
- Maintaining and updating technical documentation regularly.
- Testing new hardware and software before full-scale installation.
- Working with the IT Manager to ensure security compliance across the business and to monitor, maintain and upgrade systems and networks.
Essential Skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer care skills.
- A confident driver with a full and clean driving licence with access to your own vehicle.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn and understand systems quickly.
- Experience of supporting and troubleshooting Windows workstations.
- Experience of supporting and troubleshooting Android mobile phones and tablets.
- Experience of supporting and troubleshooting print devices.
- Experience of supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 products.
- Good technical documentation and collaboration skills.
- Resilience, with the ability to handle and diffuse difficult customers.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, and deploying and maintaining hybrid domain controllers.
- Prior usage and knowledge of Microsoft Intune or other MDM tools.
- Knowledge of cloud services, including Azure and GCS.
- TCP/IP, DNS, and network knowledge.
- Exposure to, or experience of, supporting Autodesk software.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS and maintaining WordPress websites.
