We are looking for an experienced Technical Author to work on some exciting opportunities in technical documentation, delivering the full suite of technical publications for armoured land vehicles. As an accountable Technical Author, you will create and amend technical content and drive a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Be part of our team, delivering right-first-time documents, ensuring top-quality solutions and exceeding customer expectations. Please note this role is a 6 month contract. The end is projected in October 2025.
What You Will Do
- Creation: Author accurate technical documentation, following guidelines and best practices to deliver high quality product.
- Definition: Assess tasks, resolve queries and ensure robust source data ready for work initiation.
- Schedule Management: Work with the Tech Lead and Project Manager to meet project milestones.
- Risk Management: Identify, communicate and address project risks promptly.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards, customer specifications, and Lionbridge authoring processes.
- Culture: Foster a "right-first-time" ethos, driving excellence in the team.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvements in simplification, processes, and efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Production Team and Training Manager to enhance performance.
To Be Successful You Will Have
- UK nationality and DBS level clearance or no known reason why clearance may not be granted, this project requires it.
- Extensive technical authoring competence gained in a technical documentation environment within engineering.
- Proven experience in creating and compiling Army Equipment Support Publications (AESP), demonstrating an understanding of DefStan 601 Pt4.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong English language capability.
- Familiarity with heavy armour, including armoured land vehicles, with an ability to understand and document complex mechanical systems and components.
