You will be the key supervisor for our Legal Aid immigration and asylum work and will play a central role in establishing and managing this part of the practice.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor / Authorised Litigator
  • Current IAAS Supervising Senior Caseworker accreditation
  • Strong experience in Legal Aid immigration and asylum work
  • Experience supervising casework and staff
  • Ability to manage a caseload of immigration and asylum matters under Legal Aid
  • Good knowledge of LAA contract requirements, compliance, and file management

Duties

  • Supervise all Legal Aid immigration and asylum casework
  • Manage own caseload of Legal Aid files
  • Ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency contract requirements
  • Assist with setting up and developing the firm's Legal Aid department
  • Support quality standards, policies, and procedures
  • Provide guidance and supervision to caseworkers and other staff

Desirable

  • Experience in firm setup or department development
  • Strong knowledge of asylum claims, appeals, bail, and related immigration matters
  • Experience working in a busy Legal Aid practice
