As we continue to grow and expand, we are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Junior Footwear designer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Buying Team to design and develop new footwear styles and bring them to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously research trends online and carry out comparative shopping on a weekly basis.
- Design footwear samples from concept to completion, including style, fabrics, and upper design.
- Create detailed design specifications and submit sample requests to factories.
- Manage all footwear samples, ensuring manufacturers meet set deadlines.
- Liaise closely with factories throughout each stage of the shoe development process.
- Create clear and comprehensive sample comments to ensure all changes are understood and actioned by the factories.
- Approve and sign off samples in collaboration with the Buyers.
- Maintain all administrative files and be responsible for the material library.
- Support the Buying Team with administrative tasks to ensure critical path deadlines are achieved.
- Carry out any ad-hoc duties required by the head of buying.
- Assist in fit sessions when required.
