Join us as the Lead Engineer for one of the biggest projects in London!! Overview: Responsible for the engineering, co-ordination, and execution of all engineering disciplines for medium-voltage and high-voltage substation projects Provide the technical lead and coordination for all engineering activities for EHV/HV substation projects. Ensure that activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are efficiently and cost-effectively executed. What will you do? Deliver projects and assignments as set by engineering manager in the form of annual targets. Support proposal efforts by introducing and promoting innovation, cost saving ideas, and value-added solutions to the overall system design concept. Providing expertise and support to the proposal and project teams in validating sub-contractor bids, and in negotiating sub-contracts for electrical substation projects Conform Bid packages with Customer Project Documents: Review customer Request for Proposals / Quotations (RFPs / RFQs), and Linxon proposals to ensure conformance with the bid package by: Identifying and clarifying technical ambiguities and conflicts in the documents Identifying potential or probable risk during construction and installation Developing mitigation strategies for identified risks Work with the proposal team to ensure that the sub-contractor scope of work is clearly defined, that contract Terms & Conditions include appropriate flow downs, and that risks are properly allocated between Linxon and the sub-contractors Analyze sub-contractor bid responses for inconsistencies, oversights and mistakes Lead sub-contractor bid reviews to resolves bid response inconsistencies, oversights and mistakes Provide cost recommendations to the proposal team based on the bid review analysis Prepare, update and support the project execution of engineering activities in the schedule with emphasis on; On-time delivery, Quality of deliverables and Project costs. Experience required: Minimum 10 to 15 years of substation engineering experience Electrical background will be preferred Strong knowledge on substation design disciplines preferred secondary side. A Chartered Engineer (through IET) status or working towards it is desirable. Education Required: BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent Skills and Behaviors Required: Fluency in English– both written and spoken, additional languages are a plus.
