Join us!! We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced professional to lead our project delivery function. Our team delivers a wide range of lump-sum EPC projects in electrical transmission and distribution projects within the utilities and renewable energy sectors across Scotland.
Location: Glasgow, Scotland
Reporting to the UK Director of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of project management professionals to deliver a portfolio of projects from the proposal phase through project execution and closing.
What will you do?
- Demonstrate visible safety, environmental, and sustainability leadership, setting the tone for all our project delivery teams.
- Ensure compliance with all customer safety management requirements, company systems, applicable laws, and regulations.
- Foster a culture of integrity and adherence to the highest ethical standards by creating awareness and understanding of Linxon's Code of Conduct at all levels of the project delivery organisation.
- Manage PMO office in EPC business.
- Manage portfolio of projects and project management.
- Lead project management delivery across all phases of projects in an EPC business environment.
- Lead project management teams from preparing clear and concise proposals through to completion and close out of projects.
- Serve as primary point of contact for customers regarding all aspects of project delivery.
- Take ownership of the profit and loss of the portfolio.
- Support project managers in meeting objectives of individual projects.
- Perform regular visits of project construction sites.
- Develop robust, effective, and efficient project execution plans at the proposal preparation phase and oversee implementation.
- Develop the resource plan for the portfolio and build project teams through collaboration with other heads of functions and the recruitment team.
- Develop a positive team environment; coach and mentor project management staff.
- Plan and encourage professional development of staff to increase project delivery capabilities, consistent with international standards and industry best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement of project management systems to enhance performance.
- Ensure compliance with Linxon policies, standard operating procedures, and customer requirements.
- Perform robust, effective, and efficient project reviews; produce regular reports per company policies and SOPs.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management from an accredited institution.
- Extensive experience delivering lump-sum EPC projects as a Tier 1 contractor, familiar with the UK electricity transmission and distribution sector.
- Significant experience as project director and portfolio director, and managing project management/PMO discipline for Tier 1 contractors.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of internationally recognised project management standards.
- Strong risk awareness and risk management skills.
