Location: Glasgow

Operating as part of the Human Resources Team and reporting into the UK HR Manager, you will provide practical, timely and compliant HR advice and support to managers and employees across the UK. Based in Glasgow, you will take ownership of day‑to‑day advisory activity, partnering with stakeholders to resolve people queries and employee relations matters, and ensuring a consistent application of HR policies and processes. In addition, you will play an active role in developing and improving HR processes, supporting the monthly payroll cycle, and producing accurate people data and reporting to inform decisions and ensure compliance.

Main Accountabilities

  • Act as a trusted HR Advisor, providing sound guidance to managers and employees across the full employee life cycle and ensuring consistent, fair and compliant outcomes.
  • Support employee relations (e.g., absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance).
  • Work in collaboration with the HR Service Centre, ensuring accurate records, timely completion, and a positive employee experience.
  • Assist with the monthly payroll cycle (e.g., starters, leavers, changes, absence), supporting reconciliations, and responding to payroll queries to ensure accuracy and on‑time delivery.
  • Support the development, implementation and communication of HR policies and processes, ensuring alignment with UK employment legislation, internal standards, and evolving business needs.
  • Maintain accurate HR data (including HRIS updates).
  • Partner with stakeholders to resolve HR queries efficiently, signposting to specialist teams (e.g., Compensation & Benefits) where required and ensuring clear, consistent communication.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement of HR processes (including documenting ways of working, templates and guidance), contributing to regional/global HR projects to improve efficiency, compliance and employee experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources (or equivalent experience).
  • CIPD qualified (Level 5) or working towards (desirable).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a generalist HR / HR Advisor role within a commercial environment.
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and confidence advising managers on policy application.
  • Strong MS Office skills and experience using HR Information Systems (Workday experience desirable).
  • Experience producing HR reports/metrics and translating data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and improve HR processes, balancing compliance with a pragmatic service mindset.
  • Strong organisation and coordination skills, with a practical, hands‑on approach.
  • Strong customer service mindset and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to build credibility with managers and employees.
  • Strong sense of values and ethics.
