We are seeking an experienced and dedicated High Voltage Substation Commissioning Lead to join our team on the LPT2 project in London. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commissioning 400KV substations, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the commissioning of 400KV substations on the LPT2 project, ensuring timely and successful completion of all activities.
  • Review and ensure implementation of the detailed commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules developed by the commissioning contractor.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to facilitate the commissioning requirements for the commissioning contractor.
  • Perform routine site surveys for the commissioning work with the contractor and the client.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, LOTO implementation, industry standards, and project specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the commissioning team and other stakeholders.
  • Review commissioning documentation provided by the commissioning contractor, including test reports, progress reports, and handover documentation.
  • Monitor the commissioning programme and outages and highlight to the project management all related risks that require actions/mitigations to ensure timely delivery as per the commissioning programme.
  • Attend all CPMs and manage the interfaces with all stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during the commissioning process.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project success.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive years of experience in commissioning high voltage substations, with a specific focus on preferred with 400KV systems commissioning experience.
  • Proven track record of leading commissioning projects and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of high voltage equipment, protection systems, and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in using commissioning software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Willingness to be based in London and travel as required for project needs.
