SAFe & PI Planning
- Champion the adoption and ongoing development of the PI planning process across Existing Business, New Business, Marketing, Product & Insight β acting as the primary point of representation for all SAFe-related matters.
- Work closely with Heads of Departments to develop agile ways of working that fit their teams, respecting their ownership of outcomes and decisions while providing Agile structure and support to strengthen cross-company collaboration.
- Continuously assess and refine PI processes, tailoring the SAFe framework to reflect the operating reality of the teams rather than applying it rigidly.
- Partner with the SAFe programme team to support and reinforce company-wide SAFe structure and processes, in aid of cross-department alignment.
- Lead coordination across teams through each PI planning cycle β ensuring objectives are aligned, dependencies are identified in advance, and all teams enter each PI with a clear and realistic commitment.
- Share company-wide PI progress with the teams on a regular basis, creating visibility and opportunities for cross-team knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Track and report on PI progress across the teams, providing visibility of overall flow and highlighting areas where support or adjustments may be needed.
- Implement and maintain a prioritisation framework across the teams that consistently reflects business impact and strategic relevance.
- Work alongside Heads of Departments to frame priorities around outcomes and translate those into actionable plans within the PI process.
- Support each team in maintaining a clear and prioritised view of their work, strengthening backlog practices and ensuring consistency across teams.
- Facilitate the identification and tracking of cross-team PI dependencies, ensuring these are visible, owned and resolved without delays.
Dependency & Blocker Management
- Oversee the identification and mapping of cross-company dependencies, ensuring relevant teams are informed well ahead of PI planning cycles.
- Track dependency progress throughout each PI, escalating blockers promptly and keeping all affected stakeholders informed of status.
- Proactively surface and resolve impediments across all areas of the role, escalating to the relevant stakeholder as needed to keep work moving.
Product Delivery & Project Management
- Partner with the Product Manager to define and evolve product development processes, ensuring alignment to PI planning and consistent adoption across the organisation.
- Translate product vision and requirements, alongside the Product Manager, into a clear and PI-aligned project plan.
- Lead project management of new product delivery β tracking progress, managing timelines and dependencies, and keeping all teams aligned throughout.
- Oversee project management of initiatives, which may include bids, business cases, and subsequent launches, ensuring delivery stays on track and stakeholders remain informed.
Visibility & Reporting
- Maintain simple, effective boards, and dashboards that give all relevant stakeholders a clear, up to date picture of work in progress, priorities, and blockers β without the need to chase for updates.
- Work with the Insight Manager to bring Insight into planning sessions, ensuring all teams are drawing on the same picture when deciding priorities and where to focus effort.
Continuous Improvement & Coaching
- Work with the teams to evolve their inspect-and-adapt practices, building on existing retrospective habits to embed continuous improvements into regular ways of working.
- Facilitate retrospectives across the teams, helping turn reflections into clear actions and ensuring those actions are followed up.
