Linx Printing Technologies, a Veralto company, is a leading global provider of coding and marking solutions for food, medicine, and essential product packaging.

We are looking for a VAVE Test Engineer to plan, execute, and report validation activities for Value Analysis / Value Engineering projects while ensuring quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Manager & Location

Freya Rayment – VAVE Manager.

The role is based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

The VAVE Test Engineer reports directly to the VAVE Manager and works closely with design engineers and technical specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver validation plans for VAVE proposals aligned with project requirements and engineering standards.
  • Define test scope, success criteria, and acceptance requirements ensuring alignment with DFMEA, design reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Lead and execute functional, environmental, reliability, and durability testing to validate design changes against performance, quality, and safety standards.
  • Provide technical input on risk, validation requirements, and cost–benefit trade‑offs during project development.
  • Analyze test data, draw evidence‑based conclusions, and produce structured reports to support approvals and regulatory engagement.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Manufacturing to validate VAVE opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in test methods, validation processes, and data integrity.
  • Support standardisation of validation approaches across VAVE and technical PPV activities.
  • Typical Day

  • Provide technical input on risk, validation requirements, and cost‑benefit trade‑offs.

  • Drive continuous improvement in test methods and validation processes.
  • Support standardisation of validation approaches.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in product validation, testing, or quality engineering with knowledge of DFMEA and risk‑based validation methods.
  • Experience in VAVE, cost reduction, or product improvement programmes (desirable).
  • Good understanding of project delivery, risk management, and structured engineering processes.
  • Knowledge of test fixturing and associated engineering principles.
  • Proactive, self‑motivated, and solution‑focused mindset with a strong drive to deliver results.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams.
  • Willingness to be onsite a minimum of four days per week.
  • Appreciation of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, injection moulding, and composite manufacturing.
