This role is based on site in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.
In this role, a typical day will look like
- Rotating across our printer cell, print head cell and fluids plant to build broad, hands‑on knowledge of the full Linx manufacturing business.
- Responding in real time to production issues — prioritizing keeping the lines running, then digging into root cause and countermeasures.
- Owning and maintaining process documentation, including work instructions, control plans, PFMEA and standard work.

- Carrying out equipment maintenance and upkeep using TPM techniques, and providing manufacturing input into NPD/NPI and engineering change control.
- Building credibility and buy‑in with operators and production teams to bring your improvement ideas to life on the shop floor.
The essential requirements of the job include
- Previous success in a fast‑paced manufacturing or engineering environment — experience may include Maintenance Engineering, Design Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Engineering qualification (degree or HND) or relevant experience (+3 years).
- Ability to understand complex technical problems quickly and develop robust, practical solutions, with the capability to take ideas through to implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to design and create mechanical solutions — tooling, jigs, fixtures, test equipment or improved production processes.
- Strong practical skills and confidence working directly with equipment, operators and manufacturing cells to resolve issues.
- Passion for continuous improvement, with a track record of identifying waste and improving productivity and right‑first‑time performance.
