Assist in the kickstart and development of High Performance Computing for a wide variety of University and research endeavours.
The infrastructure is composed of a 12000+ core heterogeneous High Performance Compute cluster, which undergoes an annual programme of expansion and hardware improvements.
They currently have 5PB storage, 300 compute nodes and, 60-70 GPUs.
The team deploys everything with a Dev Ops mindset, very much more advanced than any other University, utilising the likes of Puppet, Git, Nagios and Logstash.
As a result of aspirations to expand the team, they are looking for a Storage Engineer will build, scale and manage the Research storage services according to the agreed SLAs.
You will utilise your expertise with parallel clustered filesystems such as Spectrum, Ceph, Lustre, Scale and many others to undertake the role.
Additionally, you will build and deploy Linux servers in Cent OS and Red Hat.
The infrastructure team is a very close knit group, and Fridays are known as the team day where you'll go into the office.
