Join to design, deliver and evolve modern cloud platforms, engineering for the future. When things get complex you’re the person everyone turns to. You love to shape systems, using your expertise to craft engineering excellence, guiding others through challenges you’ve faced before and making technology work at scale.
In this role, you will be recognised as a Subject Matter Expert in several technologies. You will bring deep technical knowledge while also providing hands-on leadership to the engineering teams around you. You’ll set the direction within your team and ensure solutions are designed, built and operated with production in mind, moving the different bits of work along simultaneously to deliver against the bigger picture.
Tool wise, your expertise is within the cloud; AWS is second nature and you’ve worked with the majority of services within the AWS ecosystem. Terraform modules are bread and butter; you know what to write and how best to automate infrastructure. Kubernetes has been part of your day-to-day; you understand under the hood, knowing how to troubleshoot, deploy and spin up clusters to meet a scaling platform environment. Ideally, you also understand GitOps practices and have worked with Service Mesh.
Fundamentally, you are a problem solver, willing to use tools to figure things out. It doesn’t matter to you whether it’s something you have used before or something new; what matters is the end result: a platform operating efficiently, able to scale, with security best practices embedded throughout.
Above all, this position is about impact. You will combine strong technical judgement with business awareness, understanding how your work fits into the wider business and recognising opportunities to bring the right people together to deliver successful technical outcomes. Supporting junior engineers will be part of your day-to-day work, mentoring them when they are unsure how to tackle a problem and helping them develop into confident platform professionals.
If you are passionate about modern platform engineering, enjoy influencing technical direction and want to help shape solutions used at real scale, this is an opportunity to make your mark while working alongside some of the brightest engineers in the industry.
