PQShield is a cybersecurity company with 95 employees seeking a System Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer to manage server infrastructure, cyber resilience, and network security. This is a hands-on role reporting to the Infrastructure Technical Director, where you will develop long-term infrastructure strategy while managing day-to-day system operations across physical servers and network infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and support management of existing development servers running Linux distributions (CentOS, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu) and macOS, including physical hardware.
  • Work with Infrastructure Technical Director and team leads to develop and implement scalable server, network, and storage strategy as the company grows.
  • Install, configure, and manage industry-specific tooling and systems to manage jobs across a small computing cluster.
  • Develop and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging frameworks to proactively identify and resolve system bottlenecks.
  • Support network infrastructure and IT security across the company; maintain comprehensive documentation; procure equipment; and help maintain Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 certifications.

What You Need

  • Strong Linux administration skills including Ubuntu, CentOS, and Debian-based distributions.
  • Experience building Docker images and running associated CI jobs.
  • Hands-on expertise with scripting, system configuration, and software installation.
  • Experience with network security including firewall configuration and security policy implementation.
  • Organised approach to documentation using Google Workspace and Atlassian tools; collaborative mindset with empathy for colleagues’ technical challenges.

Nice to Have

  • Red Hat Certified (RHCE or equivalent).
  • Experience with macOS and Windows Server administration.
  • Experience with EDA software and self-hosted GitLab.
  • Comfort with CLI tools and local tooling; familiarity with Ansible.
  • Interest in cryptography.
