The Data Centre Technician role is responsible for building, maintaining, and operating cutting-edge physical infrastructure in data centres, ensuring availability, reliability, and service levels through hands-on hardware and network operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform hardware and network diagnostics and physical repairs to maintain data centre operations and service availability.
  • Respond to on-site equipment failures within 60 minutes while on-call and conduct root cause analysis of infrastructure failures.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and assemble computer hardware components and networking equipment.
  • Develop documentation and scripts to support server and networking hardware updates and operations.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time to other data centre locations as required for operational support.

What You Need

  • Computer hardware experience including troubleshooting and assembly.
  • Linux operating system experience.
  • Ability to transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 environment with rotating on-call shifts.
  • Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills with ability to prioritise tasks and respond quickly to issues.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with computer networking.
  • Python, Bash, or other scripting languages experience.
  • Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS.
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent IT-related field experience.

Starting salary determined by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
