Linum Consult’s client is a growing international structural engineering consultancy delivering innovative design solutions across commercial, residential, industrial, hospitality, and mixed-use developments. With an established reputation for technical excellence and a growing portfolio of international projects, the company is seeking an Associate Director to lead and develop its UK business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will play a key role in the operational management, growth, and strategic development of the UK business.
  • Leading the day-to-day operations of the UK engineering business.
  • Managing and developing multidisciplinary structural engineering teams.
  • Supporting business growth through client development and relationship management.
  • Identifying and securing new project opportunities.
  • Overseeing project delivery, resource planning, and commercial performance.
  • Supporting recruitment, succession planning, and team development.
  • Maintaining high technical and quality standards across project delivery.
  • Acting as a senior representative of the business with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the long-term strategic direction of the UK operation.

This opportunity would suit either an established Director, Technical Director, Operations Director, or an ambitious Associate Director seeking a broader leadership role.

PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, with a Chartership to IStructE or similar organisation.
  • Strong experience in an operational management role, working for structural engineering consultancies.
  • Previous history of managing the structural design on commercial, residential, industrial, hospitality, or mixed-used developments.
  • Demonstrable history of business development and winning work.
  • Technical knowledge of Autodesk Revit software and demonstrable knowledge of European codes of construction.
  • UK based, with the ability to travel a couple of times a month to Paris.
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
