Linum Consult’s client is a leading international main contractor with extensive experience delivering large-scale EPC and infrastructure projects worldwide. They are currently engaged on one of the UK’s most significant power projects, contributing to the country’s clean energy future.
They are seeking a Health & Safety Manager to oversee the ground engineering works, based on site in Leiston, England.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading the development, implementation, and continuous review of the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Management Plan for the ground engineering works
Ensuring all activities comply with the Construction Phase Plan (CPP) and the client’s Standard Occupational Health and Safety Requirements
Coordinating with all contractors and subcontractors to ensure safe systems of work are in place
Overseeing the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements, ensuring they meet standards and are fit for construction
Monitoring compliance for excavations, lifting operations, working at height, plant and equipment, hazardous substances, and temporary works
Leading investigations into any incidents and near misses
Conducting regular site inspections, audits, and behavioural safety observations
Participating in weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews, and contributing to management reporting
PROFILE
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
Ideally have an NVQ Level 5 or 6 in Health & Safety
Significant experience of administering, executing, and managing the Health & Safety on large scale construction and engineering projects
Experienced in developing and implementing H&S management systems
Skilled in incident investigations and root cause analysis
Strong communication and management skills, with the ability to liaise with all levels of stakeholders
The right to live and work in the UK, ideally locally to Leiston, Suffolk
