CLIENT Linum Consult's client is a highly respected specialist civil engineering contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex infrastructure solutions across the UK. As part of an exciting growth strategy, they are now seeking to appoint a Head of Business Development to drive the expansion of their Structural Repair division into the Ports, Water and Rail sectors. This is a key leadership appointment offering the opportunity to shape the company's future diversification strategy, working directly with senior management to identify, develop and secure major framework opportunities and flagship projects nationwide. The role is national in scope, although candidates should ideally be based in or around London or the South East.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and delivering the company's business development strategy across the Ports, Water and Rail sectors
  • Identifying and securing new framework agreements and major project opportunities as part of the company's diversification strategy
  • Building long-term relationships with Tier 1 contractors, public sector clients, consultants and asset owners
  • Growing existing client accounts while identifying new markets and strategic opportunities
  • Developing and maintaining a robust pipeline of opportunities across the UK
  • Leading client engagement from initial introduction through to successful tender submission and contract award
  • Working closely with operational and estimating teams to develop winning commercial solutions
  • Representing the business at industry events, client meetings and networking opportunities

PROFILE

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong technical understanding of structural repair, asset maintenance or specialist civil engineering
  • Proven business development success within the Ports, Water or Rail sectors
  • Demonstrable experience securing framework agreements and winning major infrastructure projects
  • Well-established network across the UK infrastructure market
  • Commercially astute, entrepreneurial and capable of operating autonomously
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Full right to live and work in the UK
