Weâre looking for a proactive and detail-driven Proposals Engineer to join our Water Technologies team. Reporting to the Sales Director, youâll help turn customer requirements into high-quality technical proposals that support our growth and maintain our excellent industry reputation.
What youâll be responsible for:
- Preparing and issuing tenders that meet customer specifications while aligning with company margin expectations.
- Reviewing tender documents, engineering designs and electrical specifications, working closely with internal experts to ensure every proposal delivers the right solution.
- Collaborating with internal departments on handovers once orders are secured.
- Attending occasional site visits and client meetings to support tender development and review.
- Discussing proposals, alternatives and technical approaches directly with clients.
What youâll be doing:
- Supporting general tendering administration and ensuring sales databases remain accurate and up to date.
- Helping improve internal processes by identifying inefficiencies and contributing to streamlined procedures.
- Supporting the team to achieve consistent order input aligned with budgets.
- Preparing tender documentation to a high standard, ensuring:
- Enquiries meet agreed criteria for content, delivery times and margin expectations.
- Submission deadlines are achieved.
- Financial margins and cashflow conditions are protected.
- Final proposals reflect the companyâs quality standards.
About you:
- Youâll be someone who brings both technical understanding and a customer-focused approach. Weâre looking for:
- HNC-level education (or equivalent experience) in an Engineering or Science discipline.
- Relevant industry experience.
- Experience working collaboratively within a team and directly with customers.
- Strong IT proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- A self-starter with excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- A positive, âcan-doâ attitude and a commitment to delivering quality and value.
- Clear, confident communication skills, with professionalism and diplomacy.
