We’re looking for a Project Engineer who can confidently bridge disciplines, support the Project Manager, and serve as the primary technical point of contact for our clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape projects from concept to completion while upholding our high standards of quality and service.
What you will be doing:
- As a Project Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the day‑to‑day coordination, quality assurance, and technical leadership of assigned projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Project Management & Delivery
- Pre‑planning and resource forecasting
- Site activity coordination
- Time and cost estimation, budget control, and performance reporting
- Robust written and verbal communication with clients, colleagues, and the supply chain
- Comprehensive documentation of all project stages
- Proactive risk identification, analysis, and management (including obsolescence)
- Delivering projects on time and to budget, ensuring all technical and contractual requirements are met
- Embedding new knowledge into company systems to drive continuous improvement and informed decision‑making
- Supporting internal process development by identifying and eliminating waste or non‑value‑adding activities
- Embracing digital delivery tools to improve design interrogation and innovation
- Ensuring compliance with the Company’s Business Assurance Standards, including documentation, reporting, and record keeping
- Building strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues, contractors, and project partners
- Attending client sites when required and consistently representing the Company’s Culture and Values
- Health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Data protection and information security

About You:
You’re someone who combines technical competence with strong organisational and communication skills. You’ll bring:
- Proven, demonstrable experience in engineering projects within a technical environment
- Strong technical report writing abilities
- Commercial and health & safety awareness
- Excellent understanding of Project Management methodologies
- Strong IT skills across Word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- Knowledge of design, manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning processes
- A minimum of HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering or science discipline
- A customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to cost‑effective service excellence
- Strong analytical skills, time management abilities, and the drive to meet deadlines using your own initiative
- Clear and confident communication skills (verbal and written)
- A collaborative, team‑oriented approach and a passion for personal professional development
- A commitment to Respect at Work, including Inclusion, Diversity, and Equal Opportunities
While not essential, the following are advantageous:
- CAD skills (2D AutoCAD, 3D Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of the Water Industry
- Mechanical understanding or electrical design knowledge, including wiring regulations and the Machinery Directive
- Familiarity with Change Management, Kaizen, or Organisational Excellence methodologies
