LinSocial Housing is currently seeking a Technical Scientific Officer - Public Health for a permanent opportunity with a well-established local authority in North West London. This is an excellent opportunity for a scientifically minded professional to join a busy Public Health and Public Protection team, supporting the delivery of vital services that help protect and improve the health and wellbeing of local communities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting scientific, technical and regulatory functions, ensuring services are delivered in line with legislative requirements, industry standards and best practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of public health and scientific services
  • Undertake technical, analytical and investigative work
  • Assist with regulatory compliance and monitoring activities
  • Analyse and interpret technical information and data
  • Prepare reports and provide recommendations based on findings
  • Support service improvement initiatives and best practice development
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of public protection and community well-being
Requirements:
  • Background in Public Health, Environmental Health, Scientific Services or a related discipline
  • Experience working within a local authority, public sector, laboratory, regulatory or compliance environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret complex technical information and present findings clearly
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and work independently where required
  • Eligible to work in the UK
