An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a regional commercial team supporting the delivery of business targets, budget management, and the commercial performance of new housing developments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively across different departments and has strong attention to detail, particularly when handling valuations and cost-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with commercial reporting and general cost management tasks
- Support the wider commercial team by following established policies, processes, and financial controls
- Help build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, housing providers, and external partners
- Contribute to planning and agreeing build start schedules, and assist with commercial requirements for both new and ongoing developments
- Take part in site visits across current, future, and potential developments to gain a full understanding of project progression and regional strategy
Skills & Experience
- Relevant qualification or foundational understanding of quantity surveying
- Awareness of how construction methods, sequencing, and design decisions impact costs
- Basic commercial and financial knowledge relating to construction operations
- General understanding of the construction industry and its processes
- Familiarity with commercial management systems and financial controls
- Awareness of key industry standards and regulations such as Building Regulations, NHBC guidance, and health and safety requirements
- Understanding of Construction Design and Management Regulations
- A collaborative mindset, willingness to learn, and motivation to grow within the role
